It’s still really reliable. The small block engines in those older mustangs were some of the best Ford ever built.


Keep up with it, and treat it right.. you’ll see another 226,000 miles out of it, easily.

That’s a TON of miles on any car.


There is no way to determine when anything will give out on any vehicle, and no vehicle has a magic expiration date. If you’re serious about it, spend $ 50-100 and have a licensed mechanic check over the car thoroughly (not your high school buddy “who knows cars”).


The good thing is that Mustangs have an inherently huge supply of aftermarket parts, as well as factory parts, and are easy to work on.
